About/FAQ

Hi. I'm an Stay at home mom diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. I have 3 kids, CJ 19, Bubby 15 (autistic), Beans 13 (profoundly autistic, Global Developmental Delay). After an unfortunate incident at school I now homeschool Beans. You can read about that HERE. I love being a mom and blog about my adventures in parenting in an atypical household!I blog about a lot of subjects, but I find myself most often returning to the subject of autism, and disability rights.  Please see the FOLLOW tab if you would like to connect with me via email, FB, or Twitter.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Hello, Inner Aspie:

I "discovered" you through visiting a autism page and seeing your comment there. I'm self-diagnosed with an ASD (pursuing the official diagnosis) and my daughter, high-functioing, does have the ASD diagnosis. I'm doing a petition drive for present AND future adults with autism, diagnosed and undiagnosed and my hope is that you will sign it and share it in as many venues as you care to. My petition can be found at: http://www.change.org/petitions/the-u-s-senate-the-u-s-house-of-representatives-president-obama-release-funds-for-services-for-adults-with-autism-to-each-of-the-50-states#share

I would be honored if you would get my petition as a widget and add it to your blogspot! THx for all you do!

    2. I'll add it to my blog page and share on my FB page as well. I don't typically sign internet petitions, but I don't mind sharing them for others to sign.

  2. Found your blog through twitter--very excited about it. I work as a recreation therapist for young adults with aspergers, autism, and learning disabilities. Your blog looks to be a very valuable resource!

    1. I haven't done a newsletter. I do lots of updates daily on my FB page, which can be viewed via Twitter, as well. I'm going to see if I can get the emailing issue resolved. I'm not really sure how to do it, yet, so bare with me!

    1. Hi Amanda! I hope we were all visited by spambots, too, and not creepy people stealing our photos for dating profiles!

We do have a lot on common! My daughter also has depression, and possibly GAD, or may be on the spectrum, as well. The diagnosis is not set in stone as of yet, but either way pretty much everyone in my household has some differences.

Glad you stopped by, and introduced yourself!
